According to News18 and Free Press Journal, Mahira is thinking about playing a big part in the follow-up to the popular movie Lucifer, costarring with Malayalam actor Mohanlal, after the Bombay High Court overturned the prohibition on Pakistani artists.

The tight friendship between Prithviraj Sukumaran, his wife Supriya Menon, and Mahira, as well as her husband Salim Karim, has spurred conjecture regarding Mahira's possible involvement in the film, even though director Prithviraj Sukumaran has not formally addressed the rumors.
